Hartmann Kunststofftechnik was founded in 1973 in Herford on the premises of what used to be a forge. At first, Hartmann performed subcontracted injection moulding work on behalf of notable companies from the East-Westphalia region. However, the company’s focus quickly shifted to its own products for the slatted frame, bed and furniture industry. Since that time, countless innovative products “for a healthy sleep” have been developed in Herford.
Hartmann's great innovative strength is proven not least by over 100 patents and utility models. These include the motor-driven Belitec foldaway bed system, which has been produced in the subsidiary Hartmann-Asytec in Löhne since the early 90s.
Moreover, Hartmann supports their customers as a reliable and competent partner for customer-specific developments. Hartmann covers all project phases from development and design through die construction to serial production of the products.
In the mid-90s, the product portfolio was expanded by non-metallic spring elements for mattresses and upholstered furniture. The patented springs are made of heavy-duty plastics and are, like all other Hartmann products, fully recyclable. Nowadays, Hartmann offers the world’s largest product range of spring elements and accessories for beds and ensures a high product quality and short delivery times with the aid of its 3 production locations in Germany, 80 highly-modern injection moulding machines and 120 employees.
